OFFENDING EVERY RELIGION

In this blog I am going to do something I thought of that sounded like heaps of fun. I am going to attempt to offend every religion possible in the limited time I currently have. I have always thought religion is stupid but I think it’s time I gave some reasons as to why I think specific religions in particular are stupid. If you like this please comment below. If you don’t like this i REALLY want you to comment, I love to argue.  In the interest of fair play i will also have a go at atheism and agnostics .

Christianity.

            I think I will start with one of the most criticised religions in western culture. The good old Christians.  Okay this religion is stupid because of the core belief. A god cannot forgive anyone because he is an asshole.  But he still wants to get people into heaven (because he ‘loves’ you) so instead of just forgiving people who rape, kill, torture or steel he decides to go about it a different way. He sends his own son down to earth, than has his own son tortured to pay for the sin of everyone else.  Than has his son killed and brought back to life three days later.  Does none of the billion Christians see a problem with this? Your god is so crazy that he sees someone who is lesser than him do something that he does not approve of so he tortures his child! Imagine is a human parent did this. Let’s say you were that parent and you saw a bug steal a piece of food from the table. Now you don’t like this, but you can’t forgive the bug. So you turn to your child and stab him! No doubt we are about bugs compared to god’s power. Would you be okay with doing this just to forgive the bug? Would you allow your child to suffer for someone else’s doing. Oh and one more thing about your stupid ideas. The unforgivable sin, if I say I don’t believe in god and that god is mean I am going to hell. But if I rape a child than kill him and have sex with his dead body. I can be forgiven.  Your god is shallow and frankly I think Hell would be a much less violent place than heaven.

                        Jews

            Okay. I know shit has happened to you guys. And i know that you don’t deserve it. But STOP using that as an excuse to explain some stupid behaviour. And STOP calling anyone who criticizes your religion or Israel’s politics anti semantic when they aren’t talking about your race at all!

                        Islam

            Guys. Lighten the fuck up! You have pulled some terrible crap in recent times. Now i am not saying that all Muslims have. But Arabic states are fucking crazy with their laws. For example a pastor burned a copy of the Koran. Many UN workers were killed in mass riots over this. The UN workers would never approve of that action anyway. And stop calling yourself a race. It is not racist to attack Islam. Islam is an idea not a race. Just like it isn’t racist to attack the idea of capitalism. Oh right, draw Mohammed day is here to stay so stop freaking out over it. And one last thing STOP OPPRESING WOMEN

                        Hinduism

            Hello to the many Hindus of the world. Okay first of all. Decide on what you believe. There is so much crap out there. Some people say you are agnostic, some say atheist, some say you believe in one god and some say you believe in many. MAKE UP YOUR MIND . but i can tell you this. The idea of karma is stupid. Do good people can universally rewarded. NO, to bad people can universally punished, NO. So the next time you see someone suffering maybe you shouldn’t assume its because they are evil. Maybe you should find out!

                        Buddhism

            Now I kind of like the idea of peace that you guys seem to believe in.  But please stop claiming to be a religion. You are a life style. There is a difference.  

Jehovah’s witnesses

Okay you guys are practically a cult. Let your members have some damn freedom. And stop knocking on our doors. I already know your religion is stupid I don’t need you at my door proving my point. Oh and if someone wants to marry a non believer that’s okay!

                        Scientology

            Do you guys really think that this is real? The person who made this religion was a science fiction writer and you wonder why your core stories involve aliens and space ships! Seriously this is something i expect to find on star gate. Remember what Elrond Hubbard your maker said. “If you want to make a little money, write a book. If you want to make a lot of money, create a religion.”

                        Astrology

            IT’S A SCAM. But people believe it. Somehow the stars position at your birth affects your personality.  Did you know stars move? So there positions change over time. A Scorpio a billion years from now would probably be a different star sign. Oh right and if you think that there personality tests are accurate. Think again. It uses something called the barmen effect. This is basically whenever someone hears a belief enough description about themselves they will believe it.  I myself have proved this by giving 20 people the same horoscope description.  Over 80% said that it matched them even tho I made it up and they were all born on different days.

                        Wicca

            Okay. I know it may seem nice saying you’re a witch, but you are not. There is no such thing as magic so please stop trying to make this crap into another religion that we do not need. I know it makes you feel like an individual but seriously... witchcraft?

                        Agnostics

            STOP SITTING ON THE FENCE. This issue of religion and god is an important one. It is how our society and the population of the world views the entire universe. You cant just stay nutral on an issue like that!

                        Atheists

            Stop resisting organisation people! Most of the time atheists don’t want to organise because of more than just religion. Organising wont make us like them. People organise to form political parties, people organise to go out to dinner and people organise to play video games! You wouldn’t call any of these a religion.

            Well that is the 1^st of I hope many attempts to offend every religion. I hope you enjoyed this. If you didn’t too bad. It’s my blog ill say what I want.

Violence

                Our society is split in two. We have one side, usually the intellectual. That says that violence is never the answer. Than we have another who think it a perfectly normal tool to use in both politics and everyday life. I think both of these points of view are stupid.

                The whole idea that violence is never the answer is ignorant in itself. While i agree that it should be an absolute last resort. I disagree that it should never be used. For example. In world war 2 we have a crazy racist imperialist leader in charge of one of the biggest armies in the world and he intended to use this army to expand his ideas of racial profiling all throughout the world wether the inhabitants of that world liked it or not. Do you really think that none violence would have convinced him to stop. if the oppressed Jewish people started to march on Berlin in place of Washington. Would Hitler have realised there oppression and changed his policies. NO. We had only one solution in that situation. And it was war.

                The idea that violence is a natural and useful and acceptable tool is equally stupid.  While it can be useful for individual means. It is not useful for the means of a society. If a societies death count raises above its birth count that society is in a state of decline. Violence can cause this state of decline. It can also cause much suffering that the people in that society would not want to live in it anymore and would leave thus putting it in decline.

                So in closing. Violence can be used to achieve certain goals. But. It should only be used as an absolute last resort and only if it is absolutely necessary.

Abortion

I am personally pro-choice rather than pro-life. I can understand how pro lifers (as they call themselves) gained there unexamined point of view

          The main reason I support the option of abortion is because I am a male. I will never be pregnant. I will never have to make that decision so it is unfair for me to judge wether it is morally acceptable for someone to perform that act.

          The main opposition to abortion is the common idea that it is killing a life. While this is true in the sense of the word, if it is done early enough there is no brain activity. so it is basicly the same as a plant. When you eat a carrot, you are killing a life but you don't feel worried about it.

          In response to this argument most pro-lifers say that it is still a potential life. It is stupid to say this because not only is it foolish to base your decisions on slight potential consequences but also because you are killing potential life all the time. Every time a man ejaculates there are thousands of potential lives gone but no-one stops masturbating. Every time a woman has her period that's a potential life gone but we don't charge women with murder once a month.

          So there are a few reasons as to why i think abotion should be legal. I am not going to say whether it is moral or not because I am nether competent or qualified, but I can say that we should at least let women choose. 

Those Atheists!

Today I will tackle some of the stereotypes that atheists are subjugated to. There are a lot of them. Most of them are completely stupid and anyone that is slightly correct is because of circumstances.

“atheists are immoral people!”

no we are not. You may think that morality comes from god. But it does not as god does not exist. Morality comes from were you live, you learn that particular behaviour is acceptable and that other behaviour is not acceptable within the culture that you live. This happens weather god is or is not involved. Oh and atheists don't fly plains into buildings, atheists don't hang people, atheists don't kill UN workers because someone half the world away burned there holy book.

“Atheists hate god”

no we don't. God is not real, I hate god as much as I hate darth vader, yoda or pikachu. Simpily because we say that the actions of god are immoral does not mean we hate him. I think the actions of darth vader are immoral but I done hate him. I actually think darth vader is kind of cool.

“are liberal by nature.”

this one is slightly true. But it is because of circumstance. We why would we be conservative, we live in a world witch is highly religious. Why would we conserve a world that directly contradicts our beliefs.

“Atheists don't know anything about religion”

Actually most people don't decide to be atheists for no reason. We usually study a lot into religion and than decide its stupid.

“Hitler was an atheist”

no he wasn't. Hitler was a roman catholic. He mentioned this many times in his book. He issued public prayers and he shut down the German free thinkers league the countries largest atheist community, he turned there hall into a church.

“all atheists are fat”

this is just stupid. Look at Richard dawkins, Thunderf00t, or Cristina Rad there all thin. This is obviously a cheap shot but sadly people do believe it.

“there is no such thing as an atheist. They just say that they do not believe in god so they can sin.”

this is so crazy! It is not true, there are atheists and we don’t say we are so we can sin. If we thought we were actually going to go to hell, why would we sin? If an atheist speaks out he or she does it because they feel a moral reason to do so.

BOAT PEOPLE

One of Australia’s major issues at the moment is illegal immigrants or ' boat people' as they have been named by the media. I have a few thoughts on this. But they are relativity easy to say so this will be a short blog entry.

its not a big deal! Compared to other countries Australia gets little to no refugees. I mean for example Australia got a total of 27536 illegal immigrants from 1976 to 2010. America has a total of 6,650,000 illegal immigrants from Mexico alone living in the US in 2009, so yeah we really don’t have much of a problem.

it can cost up to $70,000 to get a visa here. Do most people have that cash here, NO. would most people who are fleeing war hatred and persecution have that money, NO!

we should be flattered that people want to come to our island country. This is a good thing. Not only does it help strengthen our multicultural society that we boast about. It also means that we are a successful and prosperous country, the way I see it if people stop coming here that’s when it has all gone to hell.

So in conclusion cut them some slack people!

SEX

Sex its over rated in our western culture, the Australian American cultures in particular. But the west is not the worst offender. This goes to the middle east by far. But I must ask. What is so intense about it. It feels good, its a great way to relieve stress, and its a good way of bonding with people, these are all good things. Why do we insist on ruining it by putting so many social norms and even laws in place to regulate it.

Sex before marriage is no longer a major problem in the west, but in the middle east woman have been killed for it. Murdered by the state because they preformed an act that. In fact there have been cases were a woman has been raped, than killed as 'punishment' for being raped be for they are married. This is a major over reaction. Most religion may say sex before marriage is wrong but I urge you to ask why it is so bad before you just blindly believe it.

Now another cultural bias is sex with multiple partners. Some cultures say that this is wrong. Others say that its okay only for the man to have more partners. I say, what’s wrong with it? As long as every one involved knows and agrees to the conditions what does it matter how many people are involved. If a man wants to have sex with 5 women and they all agree fine. If a woman wants to have sex with 5 men and they all agree, fine.

If you have read my blog you already know my views on homosexuality, but I will sum up. Its not hurting anyone so who cares. Plus punishing someone for something that is not there choice is stupid.

Sex is a beautiful amazing thing that bonds people. It is fun so why regulate it with so many rules both social and legal.

drugs

Something I don't get about the world. Drugs, why are they so bad. And I know that the biggest argument is that some drugs may harm people health, but we would not allow marijuana even though it does less damage to you than both smoking and alcohol.

I mean even if they do hurt people, shouldn’t people have the right to put whatever they want in side there own bodies. When did it be okay for government to regulate something that has a personal effect and nothing else.

Another argument I hear about drugs is that if you by them you are supporting organised crime. This is a simple problem with a simple solution. Legalise drugs. If they were legal it would cripple the funding of organised crime and we could also tax the hell out of it thus making more money for the community.

Even if you don't like the idea of legal pot. You must realise that making it illegal simply doesn’t work, people still do drugs. People have been put it prison, kids kicked out of college and uni just because of a little green leaf?

I want to explain this part very clearly though. I do not do drugs, I have no want nor need to do drugs, I think that people who do them aren’t thinking it through, so don't assume I’m just a stoner and that’s why I have this view. I actually believe in self determination in a society and I also believe that if it isn't hurting anyone why not let people do what they want.

Atheists!!!

Time to talk about Atheism. As I have mentioned before that I am an atheist. Now most people don't really understand atheists, most people believe in religion and a whole host of other things. This has lead to a hell of a lot of stereo types about atheists. That we worship the devil (ironic) that we actually do believe in god and we just say we don't so we can sin, that we are all left wing with our political views and that we are always sad and immoral. I can safely say none of these are true for all atheists. In this I will attempt to explain two short things.

A) what is an atheist

B) why I am an atheist

A)

most people define atheism as the belief that there is no god. But I world define is differently. I would call atheism as the lack of belief in god. Now this may seem the same but it is not. Belief is basically thinking something is true despite evidence. If it is scientifically proven most atheists will change there views to think god exists. So an atheist is not a closed minded person but rather an open minded one who will adust there views to what you can prove.

B)

I am an atheist for two reasons. 1, because I don't see that there is enough proof for the existence of a god. If you find me proof I will gladly think that he exists. 2, I cannot morally support a god that exists in the bible or the Koran or any other religious text. God commits murders, genocides, and torture for something as stupid as working on the Sabbath. I will not go into detail about all the things in the bible I am opposed to but I will say that god, Muhammed and even Jesus were (if they existed) not nice people.

To everyone that reads this. I'm not saying become an atheist, I am just saying question things and see were it leads.

gay marriage

For today’s blog I will be talking about an issue that has a lot of the world divided. Gay marriage. I am personally for gay marriage for a few reasons.

A) it doesn’t hurt anyone so I don’t see the problem with it

B) it is making people happy so not only is it not hurting anyone it is helping
C) because every argument I have herd against it is complete stupidity

for this blog I will be displaying some of the arguments against gay marriage and also explaining why I think they are bullshit.

“gay marriage will quickly destroy the traditional family”

okay, it will not destroy family. It will simply change it to allow different types of families. The idea of a family has changed much in the last 50 years. It may not be your standard nuclear family (a mum, a dad, a son and a daughter) any-more. But it is something better, it is the acceptance of the people closest to you. Oh and if you think allowing people to be happy and get married will “destroy” your family than you are an idiot. If your relationship to your “traditional” family is so frail that u see homosexuality as a threat to that traditional family unit than perhaps that isn’t worth preserving.

“marriage is religious, the churches are very clear on there stance in this”

okay I’m an atheist so I already discount the religious argument as superstition. But for the sake of this argument I will say that marriage is religious. I agree that the idea of marriage is religious, well it used to be anyway. These days the governments of many countries give rights to married couples over unmarried ones. So marriage is not a just a religious matter any more it has legal implications and denying someone those legal rights simply because they got married to the wrong person is a strike against human rights!

“gay marriage is unnatural”

So fucking what! Even if I agree with you, just because something is natural doesn't mean its moral, just because something is natural doesn't mean its a good thing! Now I’m not going to say whether it is natural or not because frankly I don't think it matters. There is a thing we have as humans is something other species just don't. Massive brains. These are without doubt our best advantage. They also give us another ability. The ability to go beyond what is 'natural' and just have fun.

“marriage is for raising children”

This idea is stupid for three reasons. One because in western culture mirage is not about children, its about love. Not all married couples have children. Two if a straight couple couldn’t have children would you not want them getting married? And three that argument just says that gay people are not capable of raising children, someones sexuality doesn’t determine there ability to raise a child.

“gays already have the same rights I do, I can marry someone of the opposite sex and so can they. So we are already equal”

believe it or not I have actually herd this argument. You can probably tell why it is stupid but I’m going to say what I think. Ok while you may be technically equal that doesn’t mean that it is fair, there is another term that people should think of instead of equality, it is equity. Equity means fair, you can marry someone you love but they cant, that isn’t far, it may be equal but is isn’t fair.

My First Blog

 Hello my name is JosH and I made this blog for just about the same reason most people make blogs. To talk to people about my points of view and hopefully get them to see my point of view as valid

I will be talking about a number of controversial topics and I fully expect my views on things to be seen as unreasonable to some. Hell I even expect some of the things I say to be seen as outright offensive. I will talk about things such as religion, atheism, abortion, politics, freedom of speech and other topics. Chances are I will be taking a more left wing view on most of these topics.

I guess for my first entry I will talk about a resent development that has been all over the media. A pastor in America said that on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that he (god forbid it be a she) and his church would burn a copy of the Koran the Muslim holy book. Now it is obvious that this pastor is a complete idiot assuming that all Muslims are responsible for the attack on America. But the Muslim nations are by no means victims in all this. In response to this one person saying that he intends to (not that he did) burn the Muslim holy book there were riots in the Muslim sections of the world. Many UN workers were killed in these riots. Why they would go after the UN is beyond me. The UN would not and does not support such an act of religious insensitivity. But this is common when these nations get offended they tend to act like children. They through a tantrum when things don't go there way. This happened on draw Muhammed day and when south park put Muhammed in there show as well. So I say this to the American pastor that tends to burn the Koran

Burn it! You are a complete ignoramus and you are doing for the wrong reason, but you are preforming a valuable serves, you should burn the Koran to let all fundamental Muslims and other religions that responds to a slight offence with murder know that in the real world they cannot do that do get what they want. The amazing athist once said something along the lines of “freedom of speech sometimes means the ass-holes win” this pastor is an ass hole but I hope he wins.
